App malfunctioning

Your app is malfunctioning. When one attempts to open it, one gets a message that indicates an update is available.
I clicked one the update, it took me to iTunes, no update is available. I clicked on "open" to open the app from the App Store and get taken back to the app, which seems to be opening, only to get the update message again....it now takes a user through this unending loop...happening for two days...
